Dr. Patel graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree at the prestigious University of Waterloo in 2004. She completed her ocular disease externships with ophthalmologists in Newmarket and Toronto where she gained experience in diagnosing and managing ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eye syndrome.

Dr. Patel was born and raised in North York and her childhood ambition was to be an Optometrist. She learned at a very early age that her grandfather had significant vision loss due to undiagnosed glaucoma; as well, her father suffers with complex glaucoma. As a result, she knows how important vision is to quality of life and has made it her mission to provide the highest level of care to her patients.

She has always taken pride in offering the most thorough and advanced care in the field of optometry and vision care. Dr. Patel works hard to stay at the cutting-edge of eye health. She regularly attends continuing education seminars and, as a leader in the optometric industry, she was briefly a lecturer at Seneca College.

Dr. Patel’s passion for giving back has led her to fund an entire Department of Optometry at Sankara Eye Hospital to help champion the poor blind in India. She is also thrilled to work closely with The Lions Club for visual screenings and donate previously owned spectacles. As well, she looks forward to working with Peaceful Hearts with our office’s Dress Down Friday donations.

Dr Patel is thrilled to continue to practice in the Georgina community alongside such a close-knit group of optometric professionals whom she has worked with for the past 15 years. She takes great joy in providing amazing eye care and loves wowing patients with the level of service she provides.

She is ecstatic to continue being your Partner in Better Vision!
